Tens of thousands of workers in South Korea went on strike demanding improved working conditions. The workers who took to the streets stated that a large part of the country struggled to survive, as in the ‘Squid Games’ series, due to income inequality.
About 80 thousand workers from the South Korean Confederation of Trade Unions took to the streets across the country. The workers who went on strike dressed as characters from the South Korean series ‘Squid Game’, which broke Netflix’s viewership records.
Thousands of workers expressed their demands on topics such as the prohibition of unregistered and insecure work, and an increase in the minimum wage.
