US billionaire Bill Gates was accused of sending ‘inappropriate e-mails’ to one of the company’s employees when he was the manager of Microsoft.
Bill Gates, the former CEO of Microsoft and director of the ‘Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’, was accused 12 years ago of sending ‘inappropriate emails’ to an employee of the company. The e-mail traffic between Gates and an employee in 2008 caught the attention of the company management.
It was claimed that Gates had a flirty attitude towards one of the company executives, Maria Klawe, and made inappropriate offers to the employee in the e-mails. Brad Smith, Vice President of the company at the time, and Lisa Brummel, Vice President of Human Resources, reached Gates after realizing the situation.
Gates’ spokesman denied
Gates’ spokesperson denied the allegations. Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, the spokesperson said:
“The allegations are untrue. The people who made these rumors do not have direct information on the subject.”
