$6 billion 700 million increase in official reserves
Central Bank of Republic of Turkey (TCMB) released the July statistics regarding the balance of payments. According to the data, the current deficit is decreased by $1 billion 306 million and to $683 million compared to last year. In addition, the 12-period current deficit is equivaled to $27 billion 832 million.
We also see that services balance increased by $295 million, to $2 billion 948 million compared to last year. According to the statement by TCMB, apart from the gold and energy account, the current account surplus was $1 billion 924 million in 2020 July, and $2 billion 749 million in 2021 July.
Net inputs from the direct investments in July are amounted to $1 billion 30 million; while it is also stated that non-resident had net sales of $93 million in the share market and net purchases of $439 million in government debt security market.
