Honda, whose production period in Turkey ended, did not victimize its employees. The automotive giant, which paid the workers’ compensation, also made a bonus surprise for its workers. Honda gave bonuses of 40 salaries to those who worked for less than 10 years, and 48 salaries to those who worked for more than 10 years. The company also gave a Cumhuriyet gold gift to its employees as a farewell souvenir.
Automotive giant Honda closed its factory in Gebze after 24 years of production. Turkey will import Honda models from abroad from now on.
HABAŞ PURCHASED THE FACTORY
HABAŞ, owned by Turkish billionaire Mehmet Rüştü Başaran, bought the factory emptied by Honda. The company also bought the equipment at Honda’s factory in England and will start domestic hybrid car production soon.

Honda, the Japanese automotive giant completely ended production in its factory in Gebze on September 28, in line with the decision it took about 2 years ago. Honda was producing the Civic Sedan model at this factory. Moving to its new administrative building in Maltepe, Honda will only continue its marketing, sales and after-sales operations in Turkey.
