Tehran has announced that a strategic partnership agreement will be signed between Russia and Iran next month. Iran signed an agreement in this direction with China 7 months ago.
Said Hatipzade, the Spokesperson of Iranian Foreign Ministry talked to the press on the issue: “The work on the draft agreement between Tehran and Moscow, titled “Comprehensive Cooperation Pact”, has been completed.”
Expressing Tehran’s desire to develop with Beijing and Moscow, Hatipzade continued: “An eastern axis is now emerging between Iran, China and Russia. In recent years, the necessity of focusing on the development of relations and strategic partnerships between Iran and Russia has emerged.”
Iran signed an agreement in this direction with China on March 27th, which envisages cooperation in the strategic and commercial field. Iran was admitted to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization led by Russia and China in September.
