Boğaziçi University academicians are reacting against the shutting down of the Seda Binbaşgil’s classes continuing for 16 years. The academicians protested the appointed trustee by President Erdogan and general president of AKP, for the 172nd time by turning their backs to the Rector’s building.
“The situation is absolutely UNACcEPTABLE.”
Academicians held signs for the laid-off teachers in the protest. It has been reported that police patrol around the school with heavy guns on them, there are cameras around every corner and school is always investigated by private security and police.
Academicians complained and stated in the protest: “There has not been any preparations for the new education year in the campus for these 9 months even though the schools are soon to be opened; instead, the management is more focused on the investigation of the teachers.
The classes of Seda Binbaşgil are shut down. The relations of our very much experienced and trusted teachers with our school cannot be cut, the situation is absolutely unacceptable.
The management have been targeting the culture and art classes of our university since January 2nd. These classes have enriched our university, we do not accept. We want all our suspended academicians to come back via election.”
Academicians asked for the resignation of the trustee Naci İnci and anyone who unlawfully employed in the school till this day.
