National motorcyclist Toprak Razgatlıoğlu finished the first race in the 11th part of the World Superbike Championship in Portugal.
Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, competing on behalf of the Pata Yamaha Brixx WorldSBK team, competed on the 4.5 kilometer International Algarve Track. Red Bull athlete Razgatlıoğlu managed to pass the checkered flag in the first race and ranked first for the third time in a row. The national athlete won the first place for the 11th time this year, becoming the name with the athlete taking podiums the most in this season’s championship.
Scott Redding, a Ducati driver finished the race as second and Loris Baz, another Ducati driver, finished as third. Razgatlıoğlu managed to maintain his leadership in the Portuguese part with the Pata Yamaha Brixx WorldSBK team, and increased the points gap to 45 with Jonathan Rea. Razgatlıoğlu came very close to completing the season as champion with 474 points. In the overall classification, Jonathan Rea, in second place, has 429 points, while Scott Redding, in third place, has 395 points.
Toprak Razgatlıoğlu made a statement after the race:
“I love this track. I’m fast, I waited the last two laps, I did my best and I won. Thank you to my team. I will try to win again tomorrow.”
Superpole will start at 13.00 CEST tomorrow, and the second race will start at 16.00 CEST.
