The set workers, who claimed that Burak Özçivit, the leading actor of the Kuruluş Osman series, said insulting and swearing words to them, filed a criminal complaint against Özçivit. The actor, who gave a statement as part of the investigation, said that he was stressed in the set environment, but that no swearing or insults came out of his mouth.
During the shooting of the TV series “Kuruluş Osman” in Beykoz Riva on December 8, 2020, 4 set employees filed a criminal complaint against Özçivit, alleging that Burak Özçivit, the leading actor of the series, swore and insult them. Özçivit, whose statement was taken within the scope of the investigation, said:
“It is true that the set environment was stressful, but I have never uttered swear words or insults. Everyone who knows me well knows that I am not a person who can make these curses.”

One of the workers, A.Ö., said that he was working as a camera assistant on the set of the series:
“I was also working on the day of the incident. Burak Özçivit, the lead actor of the series, came out of the tent he was in and cursed towards the place where we set staff were, looking into our eyes one by one. Then he left the set. He immediately came back and said the same curses again. The set workers were shocked to hear Burak Özçivit’s curses and no one opened their mouths and said a single word.
I had complained about the actor, he had had similar actions to different people before, though not so severely.”
Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation against Burak Özçivit on the charge of “publicly insulting more than one person”.
Özçivit: NO cursing and insults can come out of my mouth
Burak Özçivit, whose statement was taken within the scope of the investigation, said:
“I know the people mentioned as the complainant because they are the set crew of the TV series Kuruluş Osman. I certainly did not insult them as they claimed. It’s true that the set environment is stressful. But no swearing or insults ever possibly came out of my mouth. Anyone who knows me well knows that I am not a person who can utter these curses.”
“THEY AIM TO PUT THE PRODUCER COMPANY IN A HARD POSITION BY INCLUDE MY NAME IN THE EVENT.”
The famous actor Özçivit, who said that there were some disagreements between the customers and the producer company, made more statements about the issue:
“These people aim to put the producer company in a difficult situation by including my name in this event for the resolution of the disputes. There are nearly a hundred people in the set environment. The purpose of this party that has disagreements with the company is to take their receivables that they claim to be from me. Therefore, their statements are not credible and unacceptable.”
The Prosecutor’s Office sent the file to the Conciliation Bureau, since the crime was within the scope of ‘reconciliation’.
