The Taliban hung the dead bodies of 4 people killed on charges of human smuggling at Herat as an example.
Mevlevi Şir Ahmed Ömer, Deputy Governor of Herat, stated to the press that the 4 people in question kidnapped a merchant and his son operating in the province of Herat:
“An operation was organized to rescue the abducted. 4 people lost their lives in the armed conflict that broke out during the operation, a Taliban member was also injured in the conflict.
The corpses of the murdered human smugglers were hanged in Çevk Square in the morning. The bodies of the smugglers were hanged in the square so that the others could take a lesson.”
