Turkey Presidency of Religious Affairs, which drew a reaction with its huge budget and high-cost expenditures including meetings in five-star hotels, signed another application that will be discussed. The institution has printed the Holy Qur’an so that the visually impaired can read it. The high cost of the Qur’an, which was first published in 2012, drew attention as of 2021.
The Holy Quran, prepared in Braille alphabet was offered for sale at ₺770. It has been reported that the book has a 45 percent discount, so the actual sale price is ₺1400.
It is stated that the Qur’an consists of six volumes in total, each volume has 100-pages. It was noted that visually impaired citizens who buy the book from the website of the Presidency of Religious Affairs can also buy the “Hard Cover and Box” included in the price.
Turkey Presidency of Religious Affairs has had donations worth ₺1 billion annualy
The income and expenses of the Turkish Religious Affairs Foundation (TDV), which is described as the “black box” of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, have been announced. The Foundation generated a total revenue of ₺1 billion 275 million in 2020, of which ₺1 billion was from donations and aids. The foundation’s revenue in 2020 increased by 118% compared to 2014.
