Former US President Donald Trump’s website was seized by Turkish hacker “RootAyyıldız”. Hacker added a verse from the Holy Quran to “action.donaldjtrump.com” earlier yesterday. The hacker also added a speech by Turkish President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Trump’s siber-team saved the site after a while. The address in question now leads to Trump’s regular main website.
CNN International revealed that the website was also hacked on October 8th. On the other hand, the identity of the hacker is unknown.
Forbes reported that Trump contacted a Facebook account linked to the hack on his site. Claiming that he was 19 years old in the text message, “RootAyyıldız” stated that three months ago, Trump’s website was targeted because of the “anti-Turkey and anti-Muslim attitude” of the USA.
Hacker, in a statement to Vice, repeated his claim that he had control of the site for three months.
“RootAyyıldız” previously also hacked the election campaign site of US President Joe Biden in November 2021. Hacker also took over the website of the ministry of education of the Indian state of Bihar two years ago and shared messages praising Pakistan.
